J.A.N.E. Award - Journalistic And Academic Neurosurgical Excellence
The J.A.N.E. award is given annually to a senior neurosurgical resident or fellow in an accredited North American neurosurgical training program who has performed at an exemplary academic level: achieving top manuscript submitted to the annual Spine Summit meeting and displaying a commitment to advancement of the specialty via research and publications over the prior 12 months.
The J.A.N.E. award winner will be announced at annual Spine Summit, held in spring. The winning author will deliver his/her oral presentation during the scientific program and be honored at the Young Neurosurgeons dinner reception where she/he will receive an award certificate and an honorarium. Awarded manuscripts will be submitted to the Journal of Neurosurgery: Spine with the designation J.A.N.E. award recipient for expedited review and publication consideration (note: J.A.N.E. award manuscripts are not guaranteed publication).
To apply for the J.A.N.E. award, applicants must submit a complete manuscript along with the related abstract in the abstract submission process. Applicants must further attach a brief description of their research efforts including a list of publications over the prior 12 months.
